The Spotted Lanternfly may be an invasive species, but I couldn’t help but be fascinated by its unique appearance. With its translucent wings covered in delicate patterns and the striking red hues it reveals only when taking flight, it’s an insect you won’t easily forget.
I aimed to capture its delicate, almost fairy-tale-like details in watercolor, using subtle color transitions and a playful contrast between light and dark. This artwork is perfect for lovers of insects, intricate patterns, and the beauty of nature in all its forms.
