(lighthouse of Breskens) is located at the entrance of the Western Scheldt on
the Zeedijk. It is the oldest surviving cast-iron lighthouse in the
Netherlands. The lighthouse was designed and built by the Dutch architect Quirinus
Harder in 1866-1867. The lighthouse is octagonal and painted black and white
striped. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 2011 and is now a national
