A long exposure shot of a mussel bed on the Opal Coast in France. This seascape photo was taken on a calm day in spring. The wide beach almost empty, the atmosphere quiet and peaceful and a soft sun made the moment complete.
You will find them almost everywhere along the beautiful beaches on the Opal Coast (Pas-de-Calais); the mussel farms with mussel posts and mussel banks. They are called “Moules de bouchots”. Due to the enormous differences in height of the water between high and low tide, the mussel poles are sometimes completely hidden from sight at high tide, while at low tide the poles sometimes remain dry in the sand.
“Mussel bed on the Opal Coast” is the 3rd photo in a series.
