The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the atmosphere serene. Zeeland's beach; a place to catch a breath. The tide has turned, the flood is over. Time for more peace and tranquility. Small waves roll gently, rippling onto the beach and move like smoke around the groynes.
A minimalist photo of the starlings (wooden piles) which are so familiar to Zeeland, covered with small white shells that sparkle in the sun. The retreating sea flows gently around the breakwaters, and as the water moves into the calm of low tide, a clear reflection of the starlings on a wafer-thin layer of water on the sand becomes visible.
